Kleber Quadraxer 2

The ideal tire for all seasons

Snow/Ice
Excellent for use on snow – snowflake symbol and M+S designation, for secure starting and stopping on snow.

Rain
Excellent performance on wet roads. Achieved Class B in the wet performance category of the European tire label. This means up to 5% shorter braking distance on wet roads, and an 8% lower risk of hydroplaning in a straight line and 4% in curves, compared to its predecessor KLEBER Quadraxer (internal test in the size 205/55 R16 91H, conducted in December 2014).

Dry Roads
Improved performance on dry roads – up to 3.5 m shorter braking distance compared to its predecessor KLEBER Quadraxer (internal test in the size 205/55 R16 91H, conducted in January 2015).

EU Tyre Label and Efficiency Classes

EU Tyre Label and Efficiency Classes

The European Union, under CE 1222/2009, has mandated that all tyres manufactured after the date of July 1 2012 for cars and commercial vehicles include standard EU Tyre Labels classifying them by three performance characteristics:fuel efficiency classified from A to G,wet grip classified from A to G, and noise emission in decibels.

Categories of tyres unaffected by this regulation include: retreaded tyres, professional off-road tyres, racing/sports car tyres, as well as certain types of tyres designed to improve traction such as studded tyres, T-type temporary spare tyres, tyres for cars built before 1990, tyres with a maximum allowed speed of 80km/h, tyres for rims with a diameter less or equal to 254 mm or greater or equal to 635 mm.
This label is intended on one hand to promote economic and ecological efficiency in traffic, as well as increase road safety, and on the other hand to help consumers select appropriate tyres by ensuring a certain degree of product transparency.

Nevertheless, the label has been criticized for only showing a very limited number of characteristics. Professionals argue that tyres have many more features that are important and relevant to road safety, including but not limited to aquaplaning properties, driving stability, service life, product properties on wet and dry roads other than wet grip, properties on snow.
Tyre manufacturers suggest that the test results from various institutions and industry magazines should remain a very important source of information for the end consumer, because they focus on and rate a wide variety of tyre properties and features.

In snow they really show off - very sure with good braking and control. Even when they slip if too much torque applied, they are very controllable. In normal driving in wet or dry they perform well. Have towed caravan too and still maintain performance on front wheel drive car. Only two criticisms - fuel consumption seems a bit higher than before and they wear a bit faster (although it is perhaps a little early to be sure of that one).

They are a ok tyre grip isn’t the best but they definitely work better in the colder weather.
05.06.2020 from Brian Anthony
Recently fitted to replace Quadraxer 1 tyres at ~40K miles, most of this on previous Yeti 2ltr 140 4x4, tread still legal but rubber reaching age limit. Quad 2's seem significantly quieter, equally flexible on poor roads, similar performance in most weather conditions (except snow - not encountered yet). Expecting equivalent service to their predecessors.

haven't been able to test in snow yet. But have no reason to doubt these tyres. Good all rounder at decent price. Very likely to replace with same again.
