I got rid of these tyres on Week 26 of Year 2021 (2621). My Petlas Progreen PT525 tyres were purchased in Singapore in December 2020. They were manufactured in Week 34 of Year 2020 (3420). In just half a year of usage, covering a distance of 14000km, less than 1 year from manufacturing date, they started developing cracks on the sidewalls, similar to those that you would see only on tyres 5 years or older. Either the rubber was not suitable for Singapore climate resulting in the rubber drying out and "dry rotting", or there was some serious QC deficiency in the manufacturing process. For safety reasons, they have since been replaced and thrown away. Such a shame considering the tyres provided decent grip in dry and wet, though the road noise and comfort were average. Those of you who are running on Petlas, suggest you check the sidewalls for cracks. Will NEVER buy nor recommend Petlas tyres to anyone again in future.

Fitted to the vehicle already when purchased.. They are an adequate budget tyre for perhaps city driving however they are poor in the wet. Lack any feedback in more active driving and in the wet have poor grip and braking performance with significant understeer in even damp conditions with even slightly 'active' driving. I've removed them off the car half worn and replaced with a premium brand as I'm not comfortable with their performance on mainly wet UK roads.
12.01.2023fromIan
I bought these tires as a cheaper alternative to a Continental tire, because the grip in wet conditions was rated excellent. That seems to be true. This type of tire is designed for lower rolling resistance and increased fuel economy - often that comes with lower wet grip. Not in this case.

Always use this brand and model of tires. Because of its durability, and reliability. Best for me.

- Pretty good-short-braking and grip. In both wet and dry. Also, very good road feedback. - Comfort, economy, and quite tyres. With pretty good quality and price. - I will buy it again and again, for real. -Highly recommend it for me. I thought about trying to get a refund. They make a terrible rumbling noise is one or two psi off optimum. Never had a tyre do that before.

Nice Budget tyres with that wide and quattro drive its hard to say it lose a grip or brake bad.
02.05.2022fromAlan
Just put these on the rear of my car. The were fitted on a wet day when the roads were greasy. With the tyres being brand new I was expecting wheel spin when I put the foot down. Nope, not a bit, the tyres bit hard. Even on the motorway at 120 kph when I put the foot down I could feel the extra grip and push which added to the driving pleasure and thrill. I've tried spinning the rear wheels in the wet but they just seem to grip really well.

Very quiet tyres, very smooth comfort.
20.04.2022fromIrving Stewart
The MX5 Mk3 NC is generally regarded by enthusiasts as the worst handling of all the MX5's due to its extra height, weight, and suspension settings but I deliberately selected this particular version for its comfort, power folding roof, and pleasant ride. When first purchased the car was fitted with ridiculously wide [10"] rims shod with obscure American tyres. It handled like a pig, followed every white line, and a matchstick on the road felt like a small boulder. Fortunately I swapped the big wheels, with another enthusiast, and acquired a set of 16" Momo alloys. These wheels were shod with Falken tyres, two of which were almost new and two almost shot. The decision was whether to change tyre brand completely or see how the Falkens fared. The various MX5 Forums showed a wide range of differing views on the best tyres for my MX5, at hugely differing costs, so I decided as an experiment to stick with the with Falkens and subsequently fitted a new pair to the front. At this stage I should add that it has taken me three years to rebuild this MX5, it is probably my last car, and it is very rarely driven to its limits. Whilst I still enjoy a spirited drive around the enticing Welsh and Shropshire roads, and the occasional run to Essex and the South Coast, I gave up thrashing my cars when I retired from the circuits over 50 years ago! Today safety, comfort, and pleasure are my prioroties! Over three years the Falkens have performed well for "budget" tyres. In the dry they behave well, are quiet, and very predictable. In the wet they can be induced to loose grip [especially on the rear] but I have never had the front break away unexpectedly or in a dangerous manner. An over enthusiastic right foot will induce wheelspin when pulling away in the wet, even in town, but the Falkens soon regain traction. In the dry the rear can be induced to "hang out" but I have never had any major concerns about the car swapping ends. Some of the younger members of the MX5 fraternity have told me that [when run at higher pressure] the Falkens behave well on the track but wear quite quickly which is something I have not tried, and will not experience. Compared to the exhorbitant wear rate of far more expensive "leading" tyre brands experienced by my friends [some as low as 12,500miles per set] on far more recent premium cars, I am more than satisfield with the Fakens and will probably, eventually, replace them with the same brand.

Very happy with the tyres - excellent grip in wet or dry conditions. Also wearing well and reasonably quiet.

Vredestein Summer Tyres – Style Combined with Safety

Perfect combination of design and advanced technology: this is how the main characteristics of Vredestein tyres can be summarised. The Dutch tyre manufacturer Vredestein is known for its high-quality and exclusive models. The tyres, which also include Vredestein summer tyres, are among the best currently available on the market due to some excellent characteristics, starting from the great adherence to the asphalt during the journey to their stability even on surfaces with special conditions.

Good Vredestein Summer Tyres

In recent past, numerous models of Vredestein summer tyres have made history. One of those models is certainly the Sportac, one of the first models designed by the Italian expert designer Giorgetto Giugiaro. Thanks to their design they do not absorb water on wet surfaces and guarantee total safety even in heavy rain. Most of them also guarantee reduced fuel consumption and better durability compared to other brands. The advantages and very positive characteristics of these tyres have also been highlighted through specific tests carried out by the same Dutch company.

The Vredestein brand is over 100 years old and has gained status as a first-class brand in the automotive industry. In recent years the manufacturer became a part of India’s Apollo Tyres Ltd, designing, manufacturing and selling high-quality tyres under the Vredestein and Apollo brand names through a broad network in North America and Europe, and has its head office in Enschede, The Netherlands.

Vredestein continuously works with new and innovative solutions, which demonstrates in practice by the regular launch of new tyres. The manufacturer has positioned itself in the upper segment of the tyre industry. Vredestein produces top quality tyres with the best possible performance. High demands on the products and the latest equipment and technology make sure you buy a top-quality tyre with the best performance.

Those who want to focus on quality tyres that last long will certainly be able to choose the Vredestein summer tyres at Tyres-outlet.co.uk. Majority of tyre tests conducted by specialised magazines have already proved their great stability and quietness, as well as adherence, and now is the time they impress you.
