Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

These are great tires for the price. In Vancouver we rarely get snow but when we do, the city shuts down. We get wet compact smow that quickly turns to ice. These tires work well in this type of condition. They're 1/2 the price of a blizzack and just as good.

Have tried lots of different snow tyres over years and put these on my 3 series touring to replace the Pirelli zero&rsquo;s. If anything I thought they ran quieter than the zero&rsquo;s and plenty of grip in both dry and wet conditions. Used the in snow as well and kept everything moving which is all you want from a snow tyre.

As my Volvo is a rear wheel drive automatic I always use winter tyres. Previously had Goodyear ultra grip 9 and still have them on the front. New Goodyear ultra grip 3 on rear. We&#39;re great in the recent snow, where front wheel drives were getting stuck, no doubt on summer tyres.

I bought these as they rated well performing across the board. Not top in anything but above everything that was top in at least one area. The wet grip and braking is fantastic. Performed well throughout the cold months but we had no snow this year to test them. On warm dry roads the compound or pattern does not allow for an aggressive driving style but I never intended to keep them on in the summer so this was irrelevant to me. They make a noise like driving through standing water in the wet which is strange at first but I wouldn&#39;t say generally they were any noisier than my Eagle asymmetric 2 that they replaced. Did everything I expected from them and will be re fitting them come the winter.

just after 7months of normal use you see what happened in the photo below. The Continental in greece refused to renew it so i have to pay 160 euros to put a new one. NEVER continental tires again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they grip slighty less in wet than Goodyear F1 but nothing to worry.. and they lasted 60000kms with a bit drop of wet performance at the end (and even at the end they outperform other tires in wet i had like Yokohama A539)

About Viking

This company, which is based in Askim, Norway has been around since 1931. Given the cold winter weather that Scandinavians face, Viking has thus been known as a winter-tyre expert for several decades. However, this company did not start focusing on original equipment and car tyres until 1970. Previously, the Norwegian company was known for producing rubber products, such as shoes, for example.

Viking expands internationally

Once its tyres were introduced to the Norwegian market, Viking quickly became the market leader. After all, its market share amounted to more than 50 per cent. From Opel to Volvo, Volkswagen, and Ford, this is also when many car companies started to take an interest in this wheel company. However, it took Viking until 1983 to go international. Initially, Viking expanded to the following countries:

Shortly thereafter, Viking was acquired by Continental AG. As of 2008, this tyre maker was able to sell one million wheels annually for the first time.
