These are as close to perfect summer tyres that I have come across in more than 50+ years of spirited driving. Wet grip is of great importance, and these tyres are actually AO, which I always purchase, as I understand that grip was paramount in AUDIs requirements. The car is a modified 25th Anniversary model and is fitted with SACHS Race Engineering Coil-Over suspension. The cylinder head has been ported and polished with the motor now producing well over 200 ps.

Car had 20" 245/35r20 runflats in front and 275/30r20 runflats (all MOE) for RWD w213 luxury saloon. The car came with these factory fitted MOE runflat tyres. I've Replaced these tyres and wheels at 10600km. I've driven 8600km of that mileage. The tyres wore like rubber bands on the 20" wheels. Steering as a result is very precise in both wet and dry. Front 245/30s have sound deadening foam and overall tyre noise is quiet in the cabin (but just wee bit louder than the 18" PS4 tyres I replaced them with). Ride comfort is 8/10 on highways due to air suspension. On chip seal, speed humps, potholed roads ride comfort is 5/10 - there is very abrupt jarring transmitted to cabin due to tyre profile and rims. Wet grip in cold (5'C) and damp country highways was 7/10 at 110km/h speeds - there was some slip noticeable. Dry grip was 8/10 most of the time but with occasional rear traction slips at highway speeds in curves. This combination of tyres and rims is quite poor for a luxury sedan and compliant rides.

These tyres are great. Low road noise, and surprisingly grippy in the wet. Like really grippy

Performed well in regarded to grip levels both wet and dry, did aquaplane more than the Pirelli’s P zeros but absolutely unbearable road noise and harshness. Yes I had 22” wheels with a very low profile but when compared to the OEM Pirelli P Zero & Scopions I’d avoid these if you want to enjoy your drive.
01.06.2022fromIan
Superb grip on twisty country roads I've had minor spin when pulling away on wet surfaces, but have driven through very wet conditions with no concerns. Noise is more from poor road surfaces than the tyres and they're very quiet on quality roads. Still surprised by how little they've worn in 6 months.
05.09.2020fromElaine barclay
Changed to these tyre as wasnt happy with the grip on the ones I had. Would definitely recommend great grip in wet and dry very good braking and comfortable and not any louder then any other tyre I have had.

A good value tyre, fit and forget - unremarkable but not in a bad way. They're only vice is they're not terribly puncture resistant and one has had to be replaced rather than repaired
02.11.2024fromCF
On my second set of these tyres, excellent grip and handling. Good in the wet too
26.09.2024fromCB
I replaced the original MG4 Continental tyres with these Yokohamas after about 20,000 miles. These new tyres have so much better grip in all weathers. These new ones are however a little less comfortable on UK road surfaces (which causes more road noise) as the Continentals were really comfortable with little road noise.
06.10.2023fromVictor
On wet roads, the cornering capability is reduced compared to Bridgestones, however these tyres cost 30% less. All in all, for mixed driving, it’s a great all rounder, especially since it’s very reasonably priced. A decent everyday tyre. We’ll see how long it lasts, but seems promising, so far. Noise level is quite low too.

Unlike some who write stuff thinking they're lewis hamilton, im not, but im no miss daisy either. Ive driven it pretty hard at times and whatever has been thrown at these tyres, wet or dry, they have stood up to it. Not a hint of losing it. Exactly what you expect, from mid range premium make tyres.
30.08.2024fromClive Smith
These are the B-Silent Model and they were 235/55 R19 105Y but this system will not let me specify 55 height. These tyres are absolutely brilliant! I fitted them on the rear and they stopped the road noise from the rear completely. I just wish I had not fitted something different to the front previously, as soon as the fronts wear out I will change to these. I have had no problem with grip, despite racing others around roundabouts.

Utter rubbish- they are basically like a budget tyre but with a premium name complete waste of money
12.04.2012fromGöran
Especially for this kind o tire very good comfort and noise levels, even on coarse road surfaces (like in Sweden).
21.10.2010fromSix Degrees
Rubbish! Having run various tyres from budget to high performance these come near the bottom of the list. I ran them in non-RFT form on a Golf R32 and they were mediocre at best but they came standard on the BMW so didn't have a choice. They are very hard and crash about quite lot, they tramline something terrible and traction control light comes on over speed bumps (<10 mph) and on hard cornering - all in the dry! Now, in the wet they are almost lethal. No grip in the corners, wheels spin when pulling off the lights even if you slip the clutch. You only have to visit a few BMW forums or other tyre review sites to read that these comments / concerns are common across the range of BMWs. Avoid these tyres.... I think BMW have switched to Conti's now as I didn't see any of them on the new BMWs at the dealer ship and that's a good thing!
17.05.2010fromOrphy
They last but the grip suffers - I expect a tyre to be softer. Good levels of grip but give up too quickly on a track (too hard). Any water on the road and you feel more like on ski - this is probably due to the size, rather than the tyre itself. Good all rounders. Very strong - any non-RFT would give up on pot holes. I will never go back to non-run flats - first class technology, tested with no pressure during a BMW event - brilliant! I highly recommend the RFT for any enthusiastic driver with a powerful car. Those with comfort in mind should look elsewhere.

My size tire was not available on the site, it's 21" and not 18". My experience is maybe unique to Tesla cars, but it has only 1-2mm left after 17000 km. With Hankook and Pirelli, I've gotten better milage... The tire can suddenly lose grip in aqua planing conditions, which I did experience once on the highway - and not with any other tire. But maybe all tires would have this issue under the same conditions. My main issue is that the tire wears our very quickly especially on the rim area, making tires wear out prematurely and they easily puncture if not detected (can see white threads, but not visible easily if on the inner rim). Some of this is likely due to Tesla ABS system activating easily in sharp curves, as I have not experienced these issues with other car brands. Both model 3 and model S have this issue. These tires I need to replace quicker than 17000 km as one of tires has just approx 1mm thread.
07.06.2024fromMalcolm McKay
I chose the Pilot Sport 5s for my car for 6000 miles of arduous driving, leading a classic car rally around all of Greece. We were heavily laden and driving hard on very mixed surfaces. The Pilot Sports never let us down and showed impressive grip throughout. Even better, 10,000km later they have worn remarkably little, and very evenly. The sister car was on Toyos which admittedly are cheaper, but showed a LOT more wear.
22.08.2022fromJustin
Size = 255/40/19. I had the Pilot sport 4 on the front, went for the PS5 on the back as they were just available and they were great. I would definitely go for them again but I just changed my car and it looks like Michelin do not support the new size tyres (305/30/ZR21) but I will keep checking Michelin.

These tyres are outstanding. The car is a 25th Anniversary GTI with a ported and polished cylinder head and fitted with SACHS Race Engineering coilovers. I require tyres with the highest possible grip, in both wet and dry conditions. For this reason I only fit AUDI AO specification tyres as this specification was developed for the maximum grip on the high performance fwd Audi TT. Which uses the same platform as the MkIV Golf.

I have used Pirelli P Zeros for about 15 yrs and they are a great tyre

By the far the best tyre I've ever had on any car. The grip, particularly in the dry, is outstanding- endless grip really. It gives you such a responsive turn-in, and then the confidence and ability to push for the limit...which you may or may not eventually find. Very safe in the wet too and comfort and noise is excellent. Wear seems reasonable as well. I can't recommend them highly enough. Will only ever be purchasing these again, unless Michelin develop an even better tyre..

I bought these tyres to improve Grip on the previous Dunlops and they have been very good. The wet grip is significantly improved and am very happy with them. They are a bit noisier but ride quality is unchanged. They perform very well under all conditions but can still break away in the wet, but with 510bhp not surprising! They are a big step up in performance from the Dunlops and the Pirelli P0s I have used before. Highly recommend them!

They are very good. I usually run Bridgestone pzeros.. But feel after driving in them these are better.

Smooth ride. Incredible grip that even prevents the traction control from engaging in brisk pull aways from a standstill. (My car is FWD). The only negative with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is that tyre wear does appear to be slightly higher than with a regular tyre.

Flourless great in all conditions even got us home at 40 to 50 mph after running over something in the fast lane of the M5 northbound. Can’t praise enough.

These tyres are noticeable quieter than my previous tyres, Kumho Exta. Cornering grip is better and fuel consumption is slightly better

I've driven roughly 22,000km as this was when i would of rebuilt the engine and got the car ready for road, by far these are the best tyres I've ever experienced on a car, I had used continentals and dunlop's beforehand, 2 competitors to Michelin, and before now, I always struggled with understeer under sharp cornering after periods of rain, with the PS4's, this has been completely eradicated, wet grip is by far the best in its class, with not much coming against it, usually the car would also break grip in wet conditions when in low gears speeding up, this has also vanished, in terms of lifespan, there is roughly 5mm left on the tyres after 22k km, so lifespan is also excellent. I am very confident in using these tyres and will be purchasing again once it comes time to replace.

Progressive, great feel, and get to temp relatively promptly. In the dry they build confidence, in the wet, phenomenal compared to my previous Pirelli P Zero grip. They don't go off unless you unduly punish them - a road tyre. Unsettled by standing water, but to be expexted at 305 on the rear. I can't fault them really. Not used in below 4 degrees.

The tyres are Porsche recommended for my car, so it was best to fit the correct tyre, as it would have had at factory. My car had covered only 6900 miles when I purchased it. The original tyres were on the car.

Really good gripping tyre well worth the extra pennies :)

Always a good idea to but the best tyres you can and these are great. Only downside is road noise which can get irritating at times
24.05.2013fromRoddie
Much more traction offered from these tyres than previous 255/40 R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 or the Pilot Sport 1. No feeling of poorer ride quality despite lower profile. An unexpected big jump in overall performance and the traction control light barely appears at all now- compared to all the time out of junctions with sharp left turns. Must be better compound and/or tyre carcass construction.
