About Barum

The Barum brand was initially founded in the Czech Republic and has been around since 1948. While Barum was able to open new production facilities in its home country early on, the tyre manufacturer did not enter into a joint-venture agreement with the German wheel brand Continental until 1992. Since then, Continental’s advanced tyre technologies have also been part of all Barum wheels. As of 1993, the company changed its name to Barum Continental spol. s.r.o. Since 1994, the brand’s wheels have been ISO 9001 certified, which is also true of the truck and agricultural tyres by Barum. As of 1996, Barum was first able to produce about 6 million wheels per year. As of 1999, the annual tyre production for passenger cars alone already exceeded 11 million wheels. As of today, the Czech company is proud to be able to produce 21 million tyres annually.
