Maximum wet braking while improving mileage due to Safety Silica Compounds.
The crystal silica composition enables superior braking performance especially in terms of wet road conditions. While keeping the safety performance at the maximum level, the mileage improved significantly – a solved conflict in tyre development.

The wear-optimised polymer blend provides an outstanding improvement of more than 15% in mileage performance. In addition, the smooth pattern stiffness improves driving comfort and mileage, and lowers the exterior noise.

SSR - the Self-Supporting Runflat tyre

Changing a tyre at the roadside can be a thing of the past.

The Self-Supporting Runflat (SSR) technology is based on a self-supporting reinforced sidewall. When there is a puncture, the sidewall is prevented from being crushed between the rim and the ground, as well as the tyre from slipping off the rim, which can make it impossible to fit a spare tyre.

An SSR tyre not only takes the danger and inconvenience out of punctures, it also helps with fuel efficiency and frees up interior space in your vehicle.

With four SSR tyres fitted you will not need to carry a spare tyre, which means less weight and improved fuel efficiency as result. It also adds up to 80 litres of free space in the boot.

At Continental, we highly recommend fitment on all four wheels and once the SSR tyre has been damaged, a new one needs to be fitted.

SSR Tyre (Deflated)

An SSR tyre has a reinforced sidewall that prevents it from being flattened and ensures the driver can continue driving for up to 50 miles at a maximum speed of 50 mph.

Standard Tyre (Deflated)

When a puncture occurs with a standard tyre the sidewall can become crushed between the rim and the ground. This can cause a potentially dangerous situation like a blowout or the tyre slipping off the rim, which could make it impossible to fit a spare tyre.
